Illinois Sales Tax Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2026

Heads up, Illinois! Starting January 1, 2026, many municipalities in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and McHenry Counties will see changes in their sales tax rates.

Please update your cash registers and computer systems to account for the change. Make sure your sales staff know to adjust their quotes for the change in rates if materials are going to be purchased or delivered after January 1, 2026.  Many municipalities are changing their rates for the change in grocery tax so please read below to see if you are impacted!
