Illinois Sales Tax Rate Changes Effective July 1, 2026

Starting July 1st, 2026, several local sales tax rate changes will take effect across Illinois. If your business makes sales, purchases, or deliveries of any kind in the municipalities listed, make sure you update your software and systems accordingly to adjust for changes.

Nearby municipalities that have increased their rates, broken down by county, are:

Cook:

  • Glencoe +1.00%
  • Park Forest +1.00%
  • Schiller Park +0.75%
  • Western Springs +1.00%
  • Winnetka +1.00%

DuPage:

  • Batavia +0.50%
  • Wheaton +0.25%

Kane:

  • Batavia +0.50%

Lake:

  • Bannockburn +0.50%
  • Tower Lakes +1.00%

Will:

  • Mokena +0.50%
  • Park Forest +1.00%

New combined sales tax rates can be verified using the MyTax Illinois Tax Rate Finder at mytax.illinois.gov and select rates for July 2026.
